This past Saturday, March 3rd, Rotaract members got together with Cruces Creatives to help demolish a space that will be a future work spot for the community! It was very exciting and exhausting work. We can't wait to see the finished product! Thank you to Planned Parenthood Campus Organizer, Cherokee Sullinger, for coming and speaking at our meeting about Sex Week this week. See the flyer below for more information and a contact email with any following questions.
We were happy to help organize some space for the Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, and of course give the pooches some love! Also, thank you to those not pictured who worked the earlier shift.
Our ice breaker was to get to know a new person and introduce them to the Club! It was so fun getting to know the new members! Instead of a guest speaker, we made Linus blankets for Project Linus.
Project Linus: Over 6,789,789 blankets delivered since 1995! Misson:
Our movie showing of the movie LION was a success! Thank you everyone who came. Stay tuned for more updates on the international project.
Thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered February the 10th at the Casa de Peregrinos Emergency Food Program! Our tasks included sorting, organizing, and bagging items. It was great to work with the Student Foundation and a Rotaract Club from Juárez, México! We're looking forward to more joint projects in the future. Today our speaker was Andrea Dresser, the President of the Las Cruces Mesilla Valley Rotary Club! She told us about her experience traveling internationally with Rotary and how she has grown with Rotary as an extended family! Today we had an ice breaker where we split into small groups and told stories based on a random setting and pictures! It was very fun and great for getting to know all of the new visitors.
